Biographical Info

My research is on coalitional psychology. I study the conditions for building coalitions between groups with high conflict, ideological differences, or in costly contexts. I ask how we can use different beliefs and mindsets like collective liberation and positive-sum thinking to advance cooperation. I am also very interested in how coalitions and social identities function as dynamic systems that can shrink and expand over time, actively shaping who counts as “us” in “us vs them”.
